Music is my first passion, and I was always drawn to the more performative visual styles of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament Funkadelic, and such. However, I didn’t know that my love for music was actually married to performative, theatrical styles of these artists! It wasn’t until I started teaching that I recognized the deep effectiveness of a theatrical approach in the classroom in approaching any subject. So much so, that I accepted the position of Choral Music and Drama Director for the South Bay Union School District’s Visual and Performing Arts program. Then, after over 20 years in the classroom, I made the commitment to improve and intensify the use of theatrical disciplines in my teaching by pursuing and achieving a Master of Arts in Theatre from San Diego State.

I have been in the study and practice of theatrical arts(singing and acting) since the age of 8 years-old. After a brief time playing clarinet and double bass, I moved on to study the piano and have developed exponentially ever since I began at the age of 10 years-old. Between performing with companies such as The Old Globe, Moxie Theatre, San Diego Musical Theatre, Carlsbad Play Readers, The Roustabouts, Intrepid Theatre Company and San Diego Junior Theatre, I have been in over 30 productions San Diego wide, 8 being professional.
